Custom 1-Day Building Business Acumen for Hilton Worldwide Executives
The Challenge
Hilton Worldwide needed a custom learning experience to help all associates focus on revenue management by making smart decisions with time and money. Associates at Hilton Worldwide needed to be accountable for their contribution to the overall EBITDA goal.
Hilton Worldwide wanted a Business Acumen course with “added ingredients” to reach this goal. Not only would we provide basic financial learning, but we combined this with teaching for prioritization and time management.
The Solution
The solution included a custom 1-day instructor-led course for the competency of Results Focus. The course included an original participant guide, facilitator guide, and PowerPoint presentation. The team developed custom content and wove in Hilton-specific content in the following areas:
- Financial acumen: How does Hilton Corporate make money? How do hotels make money? How can teams and individuals contribute to the money-making model?
- Execution: What are the corporate goals? What are the team goals that support corporate? What are the individual activities that support the team? How can people be productive, responsible, and accountable for results?
- Prioritizing tasks: What are the most important activities for teams and individuals to drive results? How do people prioritize those activities?
The Results
The client implemented a top-down approach to train over 500 associates. The course is an ongoing part of their curriculum. Our team provided Hilton Worldwide with specific, custom course surveys to gather feedback and measure results. Participants are held accountable to their manager for implementing weekly team meetings.
